Artist Statement

When I am in the middle of a painting and step away for a few minutes or hours, that painting is very nearly all I can think about, it is so exciting to think about what is going to happen next. And although I have experimented with many different art mediums, I always come back to watercolor. I adore watercolor painting, the paint itself, the look, the feel, and the motion of it. Watercolor is a medium that keeps me constantly excited, has me really, quite addicted.

Much of my inspiration for paintings comes from nature. I’ve always found nature to be healing, to be a friend, a place to run to no matter the season, no matter where I find myself.

I have been drawing and painting my entire life. Creating is in my blood, it is in everything I see, it is who I am. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in art in 1996 from Brigham Young University. Since graduating from college I have become enchanted with the illustration and graphic design world and adore them both. It has been a remarkable ride joining fine art with illustration and design. I now adore drawing on the computer, but I am still completely in love with watercolor. I am so happy to share some of my paintings with you.
